“I am passionate about hypnotherapy because hypnotherapy changed my life: In 1991 I was experiencing the biggest truma of my life, my baby had died, my kidneys had stopped working, my liver was damaged.

I was in Wellington intensive care fighting for my life. I needed to sleep to get better –  but every time I fell asleep I was having out of control nightmares, my blood pressure would soar, my pulse would race and I was really scared.  Thanks to a wonderful pysicologisit I learnt self hypnosis – within 3 sessions I became a lucid dreamer and am still a lucid dreamer today.

I was told I would be on high blood pressure pills for the rest of my life, I was off them in 3 months and all these years later my blood pressure is perfect, not good, Perfect! My kidneys fully function and my liver is in good shape too.

I have been able to apply self hypnosis to so many different areas of my life and so very grateful now that I can do this, and also grateful that I can help you too if you are ready.”

What can you expect in your first session?

Your first session is one and half hours to two hours long, because we go through a process called 'basic assessment', at the beginning that we don't need to repeat again.

In this process we discuss what it is that you are wanting to achieve. Looking at some of the patterns of the past – we look then at how we can begin stepping away from that and putting together some realistic and achievable actions and goals.

Also we will discuss what hypnosis itself, so that there are no misconceptions and you have a clear understanding of how it works.

We will also do a couple of simple suggestibilty exercises – so that you can experience being hypnotised before we have our first session together, beginning the process of change.

How many sessions will you need?

The answer to this question varies a lot, and is dependant a lot on what it is that you are working on. However I encourage everyone to come back for a reinforcement session to anchor in the postive changes that happen for you immediately.

If you are changing a thought pattern, behaviour or feeling that has been happening for most of your life time then its realistic to say that you will require a series of sessions.

I often will make individualised recordings for people to listen to on a daily basis for a period time before they come back for another personal session.

Fears and phobias
Normally require 3 to 5 sessions, but it can vary from person to person.

I have a put together a permanent weight loss programme that is a series of 10 sessions –  these sessions begin a week apart, however they start to spread out to the last session being  12 months from the first one. 

Overcoming anxiety.
I have put together a successful series of 6 sessions combining my skills as a yoga teacher with my hypnotherapy experience.

One of my greatest pleasures in life is in inviting people of all ages to become more in touch with, and engage their own inner wisdom and strengths. In guiding them to see clearly through any past experiences, thought patterns, habits, perceptions and belief systems that are limiting them, holding them back from living their life to their fullest potential.
I have always had a fascination around energy, and the connection between the mind – (our beliefs, perceptions, thoughts, feelings etc) – and the physical body. Having spent over 20 years working with children, I became increasingly aware of just how powerful the mind is. It became very clear to me that our beliefs and the way we perceive things are reflected back to us in our experiences, in all areas of our lives, including our happiness, relationships and our own physical wellbeing. It was my curiosity about the power of the mind and the effect it has on our daily life that inspired me to extensively explore and train in the field of hypnotherapy and other related therapies.
I am a skilled, internationally certified Clinical Hypnotherapist, holding diplomas in General and Advanced Hypnotherapy, and a certificate in specialised Paediatric Hypnotherapy. I am also a certified Education Performance Practitioner and a certified member of the International Association of Counsellors and Therapists.
